Also known as Tulip Poplar. Tulipwood is a very large tree that grows in Eastern North America and China. The heartwood is a light yellowish brown and can contain olive greens or purples (the green and purple will turn to brown as it is exposed to UV light). The sapwood is a light brown to pale brown. It mostly has a straight grain. Tulipwood is an easy timber to work with and very prevalent in North America, making it a popular choice for interior applications including furniture, moulding, panelling, carving and turning.
